Nagoya | Japan City Info & Photographs
Nagoya is a fourth biggest city in Japan and is an business powerhouse; it’s also the homeland of pachinko (Japanese pinball). None of this represents Nagoya as a top-rank visitor location, but it provides a valuable castle, museum and gardens, good foods, and a lot of urban entertainment, on a much more relaxed level than Tokyo.
Nagoya designed as the adventure town of the Owari, among the list of three branches of the ruling Tokugawa household during the Edo Period. Most of the city, such as most of its historical buildings, were damaged in the air raids of 1945. The Toyota Motor Corporation maintains its head office just outside of Nagoya. With more than two million population, Nagoya is Japan's fourth most booming city. It is the capital of Aichi Prefecture and the major city of the Nobi plain, one of Honshu's three big plains and urban and business centers.
